Theses images capture queer spaces - how they look and feel - as well as queer folks in those spaces. Queer spaes can act as elf-care when you constantly deal with oppresion. It can be a gathering place for support, love and community. They are inherently political because of the queer bodies that occupy them. Queer at night looks at bar culture and queer nightlife, how those spaces are not seen as overtly political but are a part of how we socialize and build community.
Images captured with a disposable camera, allowing folks to feel more comfortable and candid in their space.
Installation shot from Artscape Youngplace as part of the Career Launcher exhibition, June 2017. Recipient of the Career Launcher award.
